Inside The Walled City
Established after the Third World War (known as the Atomic War), the entire Continent of Europe has been restructured.
The countries that once made up Great Britain have merged, creating a unified Territory called, NEW BRITANNIA.
Surviving mothers and children have been moved inside the walled cities for protection & easier monitoring. Each family has been assigned to a government-sanctioned row house, to be furnished with government-approved articles only.
Weekly allotments for food rations are granted by the governing authorities according to need and family size but can be appealed at the council's discretion.
Modern technology & military weaponry has been strictly prohibited in New Britannia.

Automobiles are prohibited in New Britannia, with the exception of law enforcement & approved government officials.
Approved automobiles are generally early European models that existed before long before the war, new automobile manufacturing is classified as illegal. Transportation inside the city is available by train, bicycle, or by foot.
The University
New social and educational reform mandates have also been enforced, requiring all children ages five and older to live and board at the government-established educational facility in their assigned province as part of a new immersive initiative program.
Students are drilled in political propaganda and social reform etiquette, where they are required to remain until the completion of their post-secondary education, or until they reach the age of sixteen. Upon graduation, students are required to enter a university program or declare a trade.
At the age of eighteen, students who have chosen a trade are granted a labor license and considered full-fledged members of society. For those attending university, this honor is bestowed upon the completion of a two-year undergraduate program.
